You can also buy mouthwashes that are specifically for tooth whitening.  They are used just like mouthwash, but have ingredients that will whiten your teeth.  Much like toothpaste, tooth whitening mouthwash does not work as well as strips or gels, since the mouthwash has other functions such as killing bacteria and tartar control.
